Here are some of the questions you may have about Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (BCST)
Please get in touch if you have a question which isn't covered here.

What is Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy?
BCST is a gentle hands on therapy supporting your body's own innate ability to balance, restore and heal itself. ccc

It is suitable for all from new-born babies to the elderly or those at end of life.

What might Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy help with?
BCST can help with many symptoms and conditions, particularly those related to or worsened by stress, either acute or low level chronic stress. I have helped people find ease with
-
Migraines and headaches
-
Endometriosis
-
Multiple sclerosis
-
Anxiety
-
Insomnia
-
Stress
-
Depression
-
Digestive issues
-
Pre and post surgery
-
Joint aches and pains
-
Childhood trauma
-
Birth trauma
Please note this list is just an indication of the conditions and symptoms which clients have experienced relief from through regular BCST sessions. It can help optimise physical, mental and emotional health and well-being and some clients have regular sessions as part of ongoing self care rather than for a specific condition or symptom. Whilst BCST is not a spiritual practice some clients find they have deeply profound experiences bringing clarity and meaning to their own spiritual beliefs.

How often will I need Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy?
Depending upon what you are hoping to achieve with BSCT I would generally recommend that intially you have 4-6 sessions at a regular interval (weekly or fortnightly) and then we will review how things are for you and agree the next steps. BCST is not a quick fix miracle cure, but instead creates the conditions for sustained optimal wellness and health. Everyone responds differently and has different experiences of life and health, so each client will require an individual approach specific to their needs.

What happens during the treatment?
BCST takes place fully clothed laying on a couch, or in a chair if laying down is uncomfortable or not an option for you. We will spend a few minutes settling in, checking in with how it feels to be in your body and I will invite you to give feedback as to what you are experiencing. When you are ready I will place my hands gently on your body, usually beginning at your feet or shoulders or at your side. During the session I will likely move the position of my hands several times, always in communication with you. Towards the end of the session I will let you know we are coming towards the end. Throughout the session feedback as to what you are noticing and experiencing is encouraged and welcomed. No two sessions are ever the same, though over time you will likely notice patterns and familarity, in addition to new experiences.

I'm worried about getting upset during the treatment
Although a very gentle therapy BCST works at a deeply profound level and may bring up a wide range of emotions and memories, both expected and unexpected. I will always work at your pace, gently and slowly introducing touch, whilst holding a space for you to explore anything that may arise. Dealing with trauma has been an ongoing thread throughout my two year training and we will work through anything that may arise at the pace that is right and manageable for you. There are also several very good books and resources about trauma which I can recommend to help you deepen your understanding of the process of resolving trauma.
